To start we had to film footage of a tour around the school. We didnt edit any of the footage as it was just a practice of getting used to the video camera.
The film was successful, however I have learnt that it is useful to learn all the different features of the camera.
For instance, I shot a piece of footage of my partner in the project talking outside about the outside areas of the school. When looking back on the film, the sound of the wind over powered her voice, therefore it would have been useful to use the 'wind-cut' feature on the video camera, which would have minimised the sound of the wind in order to hear her voice more clearly.
We used the video camera with our free hand, therefore, when looking back over the footage the shots were slighty shaking. To overcome this problem, when shooting in the future I could use a tripod in order to attain a steady shot.
Overall, it has been a great learning experience to create the tour of the school, as I now know my way around using a video camera, as well as the features I could use in the future.
